在很久以前，某座山中蛇精和蝎子精为害人间，它们的恶行引起天神震怒。天神用雷电化成的葫芦把两个妖精收了进去。葫芦化作葫芦山镇守两只妖精，只要满一万年，它们就会被葫芦化去。然而天运使然，就在九千九百九十九年之际，一只穿山甲无意钻破葫芦山，放出两只妖精。穿山甲带着老爷爷找到葫芦种子，只要种出七颗葫芦，便可将妖精重新收伏。 重新获得自由的蛇精和蝎子精无所顾忌，大肆残害生命。它们偶然得知老爷爷种出神葫芦，于是接连派出爪牙企图斩草除根。接连遭遇挫折的妖精转而绑架老爷爷，各具异能葫芦七兄弟相继出世，他们打向葫芦山，与狡猾的妖精展开正邪大战……。James Robertson buys a painting depicting witches being burned at the stake, one of whom bears an uncanny resemblance to his wife, Chris.
