ITV has commissioned a sixth series of hugely popular detective drama, Endeavour, following successful ratings and critical acclaim for the fifth series. Co-produced by leading indie Mammoth Screen and MASTERPIECE, the smart and savvy Inspector Morse prequel charts the career of Endeavour Morse as he rises up through the ranks, with each feature-length film investigating a new intricately plotted case. The new set of films will see Shaun Evans reprise his titular role as DS Endeavour Morse, and celebrated stage and screen actor Roger Allam return as mentor DI Fred Thursday. Each story will be written by Russell Lewis, who contributed to Inspector Morse and has written each of the 23 Endeavour screenplays so far. Receiving praise from critics and viewers alike, the drama has gone from strength to strength since its first outing as a one-off film in 2012 to mark the 25th anniversary of Inspector Morse on ITV. The latest series launched with consolidated figures of 6.7m and 25% a share, with the consolidated figures for the first four films the highest for three years. Filmed in and around Oxford, the new set of films will be set in 1969 and go into production later this year for transmission in 2019. Mammoth Screen’s Damien Timmer executive produces, alongside writer and creator Russell Lewis and WGBH’s Rebecca Eaton. Deanne Cunningham (Cold Feet) will produce the new series. Thanks to Russell Lewis’s consistently intriguing scripts and the excellent production values at Mammoth Screen, it is a high quality drama that ITV is immensely proud of.” ITV Studios Global Entertainment distribute the drama internationally.。一层楼里住着两户人家，一家因无小孩而闹离婚，另一家因有小孩而要分手。 从偏远小镇来到大都市闯荡的许耀宾（田小洁饰），好不容易要和城里的老姑娘胡小兰（陈晓佳饰）结婚了，却被儿子小东（王博饰）的突然出现打乱了计划。许耀宾六年前死了妻子，儿子小东跟姥姥在小镇过，几天前老老去世了，孩子被人送到了许耀宾的身边。胡小兰不愿意没结婚就给人当妈，而孩子也对胡小兰抱有很强的敌意，两人水火不容。胡小兰大呼上当，认为许耀宾骗了她，要让许耀宾把这野孩子赶走，否则别想结婚。许耀宾两头受气，父子俩更是视若路人。 女邻居李家萍（柴欧饰）是个服装设计师，因身患先天性心脏病不能生育。丈夫家是几代单传，公婆自然想早日有后，由此李家萍与丈夫家产生了许多矛盾。丈夫如今有钱有势了，要包二奶借腹生子，为此两人正闹离婚。 小东是个寡言少语却很懂事的孩子，在几次接触之中，李家萍喜欢上了这个小镇上来的孩子。小东也十分乐意帮李姨干事，在李家萍那里他感受到了母亲般的关爱，因此小东对李家萍十分依恋。女邻居李家萍刚搬进楼时，曾与许耀宾有过不愉快的摩擦，小东的到来使两家的关系大大改善。但是，小东与父亲之间的感情依然没有什么进展。 李家萍因淋雨而生病住进了医院，许耀宾为照顾李家萍而耽误了工作，被老板炒了鱿鱼，也惹恼了女友胡小兰。在胡小兰家许耀宾受了一肚子气，怒气冲天地回到了家，正好看到小东为熬稀饭被烫伤，顿时火冒三丈，抱怨小东给他添乱。小东受了委屈，冒雨离家，沿着铁路朝着小镇的方向走去。李家萍和许耀宾一起在雨中把孩子找回了家，经过此事，许耀宾突然感悟到小东在他心中是多么的重要。 小东快开学了，许耀宾准备带着他回小镇。在送别的站台上，赶来的李家萍说已经为小东联系好了学校，并告诉许耀宾她已经离婚了……火车开走了，站台上，小东和父亲会心地笑了。。探寻从70年代后期至90年代初期20号公路沿线的犯罪活动，多名年轻妇女和女孩失踪、遭到性侵犯或被杀。。
