The warmhearted story of Polish immigrant and mathematician Stan Ulam, who moved to the U.S. in the 1930s. Stan deals with the difficul t losses of family and friends all while helping to create the hydrogen bomb and the first computer. 波兰科学家乌兰姆于上世纪30年代移居到美国，他在帮助科研团队制作氢弹的过程中，他还要处理和面对一些个人得失。。1850年，一个东正教犹太学者Avram Belinski要骑马从费城到旧金山，他只知道加州是某个接近纽约的地方。路上他遇到了牛仔Tom Lillard，Tom Lillard虽然不了解这个学者，但是他知道Avram Belinski很需要他的帮助，而带着这个新手去旧金山将会给他带来一大堆的麻烦事，因为有印第安人，一帮无情的杀手等等在考验着他们的生存能力。。
