身负痛苦过往的电影导演近藤（小出惠介饰）身无分文地回到了他曾度过青春时代的银平町。偶然遇到了热爱电影的流浪汉佐藤（宇野祥平饰）和商业街一角濒临倒闭的电影院银平斯卡拉座的老板梶原（吹越满饰），开始借住在电影院中，通过与热爱电影的三两熟客的相处，渐渐揭开了昔日在恐怖电影圈中颇负盛名的他沦落至此的原因。Luke Ellis的父母某天突然被杀，而他则被拐走并被关在一处叫「The Institute」的地方，他的新房间与老家一样，但是没有窗，及门外尽是其他房间的门。这儿关着的孩子都有特殊能力，例如念力﹑心灵感应等。 这个地方会无情地榨取孩子们的超能力，不接受的话会受到各种惩罚；主角Luke渴望能逃出「The Institute」，不过过去从没有人成功过。。Ray runs North London's most powerful criminal gang, and his nephew Jude is a polished and successful member.
